2026 Richmond Poetry Festival: An Evening with Richmond Poet Laureate Joanna Lee in Conversation with Dorinda Wegener
Spend a special, Pre-Fest evening in conversation with Richmond Poet, Dorinda Wegener, author of the poetry collection Four Fields and current Richmond Poet Laureate, Joanna S. Lee.
Hosted at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. Free and open to the public. On-street parking.
2026 Illumination Book Awards Ceremony
Dorinda Wegener will be in celebration with Four Fields, while gathering with other winning authors, at the 2026 Illumination Book Awards Ceremony hosted virtually.
Winners will participate in fun photo ops, take part in marketing break-outs, and attend a Keynote Speaker Address.

Meet the Trio House Press Authors Reception
Come meet your favorite Trio House Press author (THP spans over 14 years!) and celebrate the new incoming 2026 THP writers at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, Homeland Room, 5th Floor, on Wednesday, March 5th at 6:00PM.
There will be appetizers and a cash bar. The first 20 guests will receive a free THP title. THP books will be available for sale and many THP authors present for signings.
I’ll be there representing with Four Fields!
Free and open to all AWP guests, family, friends, and FANS!
Trio House Press Virtual Vigil for Minneapolis
Trio House Press of Minneapolis, MN, invited their authors and editors to share words, poems, and sentiments of solidarity with and for the Minneapolis Community in response to the overwhelming ICE presence therein. The Virtual Vigil will run the month of January and will showcase support from 19 different THP writers. The full Vigil, along with author specific videos will be shared on THP’s YouTube channel.
Dorinda Wegener, who is a registered nurse, is happy to participate in this virtual event by sharing a poem from Four Fields about her father, a veteran of multiple American Wars.

Round Robin Reading
Poem After Poem will be hosting a live Zoom poetry ‘Round Robin Reading’ featuring Dorinda Wegener and Four Fields sharing work and conversation with poets: Sarah Carey and Tina Schumann. This on-line Zoom event requires registration for the link. Pacific Coast start time is 4:00PM. Eastern Coast is 7:00PM.
Beatific Richmond
Dorinda will be reading poems from Four Fields at the partnering of Poets for Peace and Poems for People Virginia with Mark Lipman’s Vagabond Poetry Caravan National Tour. Scheduled on Jack Kerouac’s birthday, this Tour has been described as “the Woodstock of Poetry” in RVA. Hosted at the Camel, doors will open at 7:00PM for a meet and greet with the artists followed by the show, which includes poets, jazz, puppetry and a community open mic, from 8:00PM to 11:00pm. This is a ticketed event. On-street parking only.
A Poem Party
Dorinda joins a group of Richmond poets at Blue Bee Cider to read from Four Fields and share a glass of craft cider. Free to attend. On-site parking.
Poetry Reading & Open Mic with Poet Laureate Joanna Lee
Celebrating National Poetry Month with Richmond Public Library, Westover Hills Branch & Joanna Lee, Poet Laureate for the City of Richmond, will be Dorinda Wegener reading selected works from Four Fields. This is an all ages event. Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign up to read your poems during the Open Mic!
Richmond Poetry Festival 2025
Dorinda Wegener will be sharing poems from Four Fields during the 2025 Richmond Poetry Festival at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond, Virginia, at the Community Poetry Reading on Saturday, April 12th at 4:00PM, and then Wegener will be emceeing for the River City Poets’ Reading Saturday Night, April 12th at 5:00PM. The Festival runs all day, come early to enjoy poems : stay late to enjoy poems!

Workshop Leader: Southwest Writers at University of New Mexico Continuing Education
Dorinda Wegener will present From Pitch to Launch: Publicity Steps Authors Can Take to Maximize Book Exposure, a two hour workshop where participants will (1) generate a book abstract and elevator pitch, (2) discover what ‘successful’ Publicity means to them, and (3) an audience Q&A. A writer does not need to have a book in order to benefit from this event. Registration is required. This workshop will be in person and via Zoom.

Join Southwest Writers for their February Monthly Meeting where Dorinda Wegener will present Get it Together: Organizing a Submission Packet and/or Manuscript & Tips on Submitting It. Wegener’s presentation will cover how to organize a sub packet (individual packets or manuscript/anthology), where to submit, and guidelines on how best to achieve success.
